Animal Farm, an introduction: George Orwell
Major is an old pig that persuade the
other animals to make a revolution in the farm because he thinks that humans
are bad in all the possible ways. This character has a really good
relationship with all the animals in the farm because he is one of the oldest
and knows a lot about others characters. They respect him, and listen to his
speech quietly. Major is my favorite character because is the boss and
has a very strong desire to allow evey animal to be equal and live without the
abuse of humans.
During his speech, he is like paternal
figure to all other animals. I really likeold Major because he has a very good
way of speaking, and he is not selfish at all.
Persuasive Techniques: Animal Farm
Are
used in different ways in a text. Persuasive techniques have the function of
made the reader have the same point of view as the writer. Writers use these
techniques to make contrast, exaggerated, in others worlds are used to make the
text more beautiful and to take the attention of the readers. It is also used
to make the readers think about the contest in the text. In Animal Farm persuasive techniques are
used in the whole novel with the purpose to make other characters reflect or
just to make some emphasis in some points or important ideas that are connected
to the theme. For example, in the novel the writer uses tricolon to make
examples about something especial in the text. They also use repetition to make
some emphasis in the main point, this happens in the song that Old Major songs
with the rest of the animal in the farm.
Poor Animals Started a Rebellion to Protect their Rights
Mr Jones tooks some forces to get back his farm.

Two days ago something very terrible had happen in Animal Farm. The animals that where having a good start in the farm, were attacked by the farmers, between them where, Mr. Jones; the old owner of Animal Farm, Mr. Frederick and Mr. Pilkington who had said "This was what came of rebelling against the laws of Nature". As physics every action have a reaction, Animal Farm was not the exseption. This type of comments made others farms and animals get some knows about what was happenig in the barn. But this doesn't stop in words, the problems between wild humans and animal was continued. Jones with all his group had start all the movements, to start a fait with animal. But animals doesn't left behind in, Snowball; one of the leader, organized their comrades and start attacking.

How does Napoleon use his power to control the animals?
Napoleon uses his power to control the
animals in animal farm, by propaganda. Napoleon uses this technique on the
animals, because some of them are ignorance and faulty memories. One of the
characters that Napoleon uses is Squealer, who remembers the others animals how
bad, was the farm when Mr. Jones had the entire control of the farm. "Surely,
comrades, you do not want Jones back?”. The others pigs contribute with the lies
that Napoleon told the animals, his strategy is to wait some time to change all
the history of the events in the farm. Napoleon also use intimidation when he
do propaganda in the farm, because if any animal refuses Napoleons ideologist
or goes cross his ideals, he uses the dogs to intimidate the others animals. "There
was a terrible baying sound outside, and nine enormous dogs, wearing
brass-studded collars came bounding into the barn”. To conclude Napoleon have
too much power in the farm, this power is not well used because he is a leader
who lies to change the way of think of the animals in the farm. But lies are
not forever and the animals will know all the truth about his “government” .

This is a nice introduction to your favourite character with some good points about the key facets of his character and good inferences about his relationships with the other animals.
ResponderEliminarIn your next entry, try to think about the wider meaning of the characters and action in terms of the allegorical nature of the story.
The paragraph on rhetorical devices is not sufficient. This should be an analytical essay, explaining the use of three specific examples of different rhetorical devices used in Major's speech. We wrote the introduction (which you have not included) as a whole class, all you needed to do was choose three quotes to analyse!
ResponderEliminarPlease read the homework assignments more carefully in the future and see me if you have any questions.
Your most recent assignment, "Animal Farm in 2013" due on 18th August, is missing. It is now too late to receive a grade for this work. Please make sure you post all subsequent assignments on time or it will affect your grade for the term.
ResponderEliminarNice work on your news article. The title clearly shows the reporter's bias in favour of the animals and their rebellion, and the sympathetic writing style maintains this point of view. You also included some good witness testimony from Mr Pilkington. This was an interesting, good choice of witness. Well done.
ResponderEliminarIn your next blog, make sure you complete your writing fully. This report cuts of suddenly without a proper conclusion and without completing the full report of events, which is a shame.
Language note: Make sure you check all your verbs carefully to ensure your tense is consistent and correct. Also, check your spelling before you publish your work.
Your analysis of Napoleon's use of power to control the animals includes some thoughtful and interesting work. Well done. A bit more analysis of your quote would really make your ideas clear. For example, you could explain that the animals really believe that life with Mr Jones was worse, and that the pigs exploit this idea.
ResponderEliminarLanguage note: You can use shorter paragraphs when writing your blog. Each example can have its own paragraph to make your writing more clear.
Also - be careful with word types. Revise where nouns, verbs, adjectives and adverbs go in a sentence and use the correct type of word. E.g: "some of the animals are ignorant (adj)" not 'ignorance' (noun).
Keep up the good work.
